Ned Rifken: Ned's Bio

For 6 years and 550 performances Ned has headlined to 100's of thousands as "Carnival's Ambassador of Swing". He stars in their “Singin' With The Big Band" Show aboard the Carnival Spirit. The Spirit sails to Alaska, Hawaii and Mexico 52 weeks a year. Ned flies in and out for one night every cruise for two shows. The Carnival office in Florida raves about Ned and says his review cards come in with glowing comments every week. He has been asked back to perform a consecutive 250 weeks in a row since mid 2004, and counting. On land, Ned heads up the quartet Ned Rifken and the Hipmunks, a handpicked classic jazz combo made up of top musicians from the Los Angeles area. They've performed at countless events at top venues in the Southern California region. In 2007 they completed their first CD called “No Worries” featuring Ned’s original song of the same title. The CD also features legendary actor/artist/comedian/musician Martin Mull playing guitar on Ned’s version of Martin’s song “Flexible.” Ned has been the male singer for the following; Randy Van Horne's Alumni Association, Johnny Vana's Alumni Band, Decades - Rock Tribute Band, Horace Heidt and his Musical Knights, Bill Webster's Unabridged Big Band, Tim Davies Big Band, Geo Valle's Swing City and The Bob Noval Orchestra. Ned Rifken hails from Elgin Illinois where he grew up as the youngest of five children in a musical family.
